The book

so far in the book have had the initiation .The main charecters the Dragon Hiccup the horrendous gets lost.

Cressida Cowell a really good Author makes you intrusted in the book by having intrusting words.

The Draggon gets you scared and it is not nice they all rude except from toothless.The toothless is really kind and he is the smallest and he is the cutest.

Why did i like the book?

I liked the book because it had the initiation and iliked it when they were all being lazy.I think it is funny a bit aswell i think that book was really good.

The summery

There’s a story of a boy called Hiccup they have to do a test were they have to find a dragon and train it finally the initiation test came they had to make them catch stuff and telling them to go and come back.But they didn’t have a test instead they had a fight.

The best bits

The best bits are when Hiccup lost all the dragons when the dragons were chasing them out of the cave because Hiccup and there friends woke them up.

Describing our favourite character

My favourite character is Hiccup because he is brave and he is really good at training dragons and he tells everyone what to do his dragon is called Toothless.

Best Bits of book: The best bit of the book is when they go and get the dragons and put them in the basket…..

Main character info: Hiccup, He is quite dumb spometimes and sometimes he gets the tasks wrong. His freinds always  argue about why he is the son of the cheif.

What the words mean: vanity means someone who is  vain, futile, or worthless.

Malivolent means spiteful.

It’s Friday 13th – the unluckiest day! But why do people always think something bad’s going to happen when it comes around?

No one’s sure what the exact origin of the superstition is.

The number 13 and Friday both have a long history of bringing bad luck, and it’s the combination of the two that makes the day the most feared.

“Unlucky” 13

Many think that the reason for the number 13′s bad luck comes from the Bible. Judas, who betrayed Jesus, is thought to have been the 13th guest to sit down to the Last Supper.

Even today, it’s considered unlucky to have 13 people sitting at a dinner table, and some people pop a teddy bear in a seat to make the number of guests up to 14!

In Norse mythology, a dinner party of the gods was ruined by the 13th guest called Loki, who caused the world to be plunged into darkness.

It seems the superstition has stuck: some hotels will have no room 13, while a lot of tall buildings “don’t have” a 13th floor, jumping straight from 12 to 14, and some airlines refuse to have a row 13 in their planes too.

“Unlucky” Friday

For hundreds of years, Friday has been considered the unluckiest day of the week. In Geoffrey Chaucer’s famous Canterbury Tales, written in the 14th century, he says “and on a Friday fell all this mischance”.

In Britain, Friday was once known as Hangman’s Day because it was usually when people who had been condemned to death would be hanged.

But Good Friday – the day of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion – is thought to be the only Friday that bucks the trend, hence its name.

If you’re born on Good Friday you’re thought to be lucky, while sailors, who are notoriously superstitious, would sometimes begin a long voyage on Good Friday because of its holy connections.

Fear of Friday 13th?

But the combination of Friday and the number 13 as a day of particularly bad luck seems to be a relatively recent tradition – perhaps only about 100 years old.

There’s even a special word for the fear of Friday 13th -paraskevidekatriaphobia. We’ve got a fear of trying to pronounce that word…

Summary

This book is about a little hero called Hiccup horrendous haddock the third who tries to pass a dragon initiation test so he could be a hooligan tribe leader but there’s other people trying to be a leader as well. To pass the dragon initiation test you must get a dragon from the dragon nursery and train it to be under your command. At the end of the book Hiccup and their Hooligan tribe have a big and gory battle with each other…!

My best bit

My best bit was when the day came when there Dragon initiation test came there was also different events with other tribes. Other events like Axe displaying while having lunch, how many gull eggs can you eat in one minuet, ugliest baby competition and finally the Dragon initiation test.

Describing my favorite character

My favorite character is Fish legs because he stands up for himself and is very brave to get one of the very scary dragons. Fish legs is not like Hiccup hes like the leader of all of them but Hiccup has a friend who helps him.
